Patti's Story

Life My freshman year of college I did Disneys College Program. I got to work guest services in the Grand Floridian Hotel where I got to meet over a dozen celebrities. I attended both West Lafayette and Purdue Cal for my undergrad. When I graduated Lori and I traveled Italy and France for a month. While I was in France I got to go to cooking school at LaVareene that was held in a 1600 Chateaux. This was a wonderful experience because we really got to see all that is great in Italy and Paris. When I returned I opened a catering company as well as a restaurant. They were in Downtown Crown Point and I enjoyed the experience. After deciding I needed to expand the restaurant or go back to school for a Masters, I decided to go to Purdue West Lafayette and get a Masters in Education. I taught in Lowell for two...Expand for more
years and am startig my tenth year of teaching in Merrillville School Systems. I teach cooking to 7th and 8th graders as well as teach adult cooking courses. I'm enjoying it now since it allows me to travel. Over the past six years I have taken students to Amsterdam, Brussels, Madrid, London, Monacco and all over France and Italy with another teacher. This year I got to go to Greece with a friend and their family. We visited Athens, Mykonos, Argos, Mycenee and Delos. I built a house thirteen years ago in Crown Point and live with a small pack of dogs. I still golf, fish, camp, snow ski, sail and love to entertain both formally and informally. My sister Lori and I are still very close and do a lot of activities together. Ten years ago I was in Chicago and met Byron Clark. We have been together ever since.
