Patti's Story
Let's see, my story. My dad was in the air force so I was born in Houston, and then lived in Moses Lake, WA (which I don't really remember), Lakewood, WA (where I attended Oakwood Elementary for 1st and 2nd grade), and then moved to 802 Yakima Ave. in Tacoma. I attended Lowell Elementary. My dad's work moved us to Salt Lake City, UT after 6th grade. I attended Butler Jr. High and Brighton High School. (I put myself down as a Stadium High School person to see if I could find anyone I knew from elementary school.) I married Harry John Maxwell Jr. (who went by John, but now goes by Harry) February 17, 1978. I received a Bachelor of Music in violin pedagogy from Brigham Young University and had my first son in December of 1978. We had a second son in 1980 and moved to Bloomington, IN. 81 and my husband received a PhD in music theory and a master's degree in computer science. He took a job with IBM in Cary, NC. We moved here December 17, 1984 and have never left. My husband left IBM in 1986 to work for SAS Institute. We had a daughter that year, and another son in 1988. I taught violin and piano and started "retiring" a few years ago. I am down to one last student and now thinking I don't want to stop teaching altogether. Maybe I'll add in a few more. I have eight grandchildren who I adore. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I sang with a barbershop quartet for 20 years. We thought we would sing and dance forever but our lead singer passed away quite unexpectedly the end of May. I like to run and do yoga and read and work in the yard. That's my story.
