Patty's Story
Life
Married in 1969 to that character from Miller H.S. Mistake. Divorced in 1994. 2 beautiful children: Misty Dawn, b. 1975, she had a daughter, Chloe, now 14, who is with me. Misty and her husband, Steve, have moved down to Tomball to live with us. We are enjoying them immensely. My second daughter, Lacey Anne, b. 1988, is 23 yrs. old and married Aaron, her high school sweetheart, October 3rd, 2009. I gave her away! What an awesome experience. She gave birth to a 12 lb. 6 1/2 oz. baby boy, Connor, on January 17. She still has another year of school. She's begun her student teaching and loves it. She was encouraged to get her substitute certification (which she did) and has had a very eye opening experience doing substitute work at various levels and schools. I'm so proud of her!! My Mom is here, too, and still chugging along at 87 years. We all enjoy being together here and keep one another encouraged and optomistic.
I'm a contract paralegal, answer only to me, and LOVING it! Work has gotten a bit slim lately (I'm sure you all have seen it), but I am still hoping for another contract soon.
Married again March 10, 2001 to Dale L Curl. As of today, I am now a widow. Dale died of a massive heart attack on April 21, 2009. It was a big shock. I had always thought I'd marry and life would be set in concrete. Didn't happen *sigh* Just playing it by ear now and am trusting the Lord to lead me in the right direction. I know I'm in good hands with God watching over me. Life certainly has its twists and turns - the good thing is that we can still be excited about tomorrow and what it holds. I still have a long list of things to do and experiences I hope to have before it's all over here.
I'm still short (5'1"), weigh in at about 115 lbs.,still blonde (for now), and still crazy after all these years. I enjoy mild exercise - not a fanatic, but I like to feel comfortable in my body and staying active keeps me that way.
I always wanted to be a singer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a bad idea for making a lliving. As it turns out, they were almost rig...Expand for more
ht. I got to travel and sing with the Sixth Fleet Choir and a couple of little off shoot groups. I loved performing and meeting new people. Those days are gone, but they were absolutely great while they lasted. *grins*
Worked as a professional tennis umpire at many tournaments in Texas and the U.S. Open Championships up in NYC for about 4 years running. Loved the challenges and the game.
Owned a motorcycle for about 5 years and lost it in a house fire. I miss that bike to this day, but perhaps at my age, it's good it's gone. LOL I have managed to get a little 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder and that makes up for the motorcycle now. It's a fun car with a zippy attitude. *grins* Yes, the top stays mostly down. (Sound system is great, too!!).
Went to my first class reunion in 2001 and it was so grand to see so many of you doing so VERY well. May your successes and lives continue to be enriched!! Don't know if I'll be able to make any more reunions, but I love hearing from classmates and catching up. Blessings to each of you great and grand people!!
My favorite way to relax is to read a good book. It's a cheap vacation - and I never have to leave home or wash dirty clothes when I get back. Barnes & Nobles LOVES me!! I would like to travel, but won't do it alone. Anyone need a travel companion?
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the kitchen and add on a pool, but my dream home would be a cottage on the beach in Port Aransas. Nothing fancy, I'd just enjoy the waves and the beauty with a little wine.... oh, yes. Easy does it.
Actually, I'm not concerned with how my friends remember me. In fact, it would surprise me very much to BE remembered at all. I wasn't well known in school and was never anyone's great love interest, nor was I the smartest, dumbest, best, or worst dressed. I guess you could say that I got lost in the middle - not a bad thing all together.
Knowing each of you are well is great, and may age be treating you kindly and with respect. Sometimes, we have to demand that respect, right?
Hugs to all of you & blessings to each of you!!
Later, Tigers!!
