Patty's Story
Life
After 25 years of shaking things up in Utah as the local sex/AIDS educator, and activist for women's rights, gay rights, and civil rights, I retired from the University of Utah where I was an associate professor of health promotion and women's studies. College
The greatest mistake I ever made in life was attending Brigham Young University. I cried almost each day I was there because of the racism and the lack of intellectual freedom or curiosity. It did help me realize that mormonism sure didn't work for me, but I don't think it was the best place to begin my professional future. I hope I've made the best of that experience since then.
