Paul's Story
Well, what can I say. A high school class clown and party animal who one day, while working in an A&P Supermarket, looked at an older co-worker and seriously thought "is this what I am going to do the rest of my life?" Had looked into the Navy before but approached it with a whole new attitude. Best move I ever made. Got my head screwed on right and have not looked back since. Found I had better luck learning by doing than sitting in a clasroom. This led me to develop journalism skills (writer, editor, photojournalist) while in the Navy and (later) telecommunications skills that have proven invaluable. held while maintaining a high level of professionalism. I am a very "hands-on" person who hates paying anybody for something I can do myself. This includes carpentry, plumbing, electrical and mechanical repair.
I have never been well off and never hope to be. My family was poor while I was growing up but all I can remember was the fun we had, playing baseball in the open lot (and running whenever one of us labelled one of the houses across the street). Ahh, the good ol' days.
While I hear others wishing to hit the lottery for millions, I sometimes wish I could hit for $10,000 or $20,000...just enough to fund a few home improvement projects (materials...I do the labor). Maybe someday.
