Paul's Story
Howdy all!
Been a busy guy (errr...learning lifes lessons...yeah, that's the ticket...I'll stick with that).
Got out of High School, went to college at Sac State (well, after the obligatory period at Chabot, of course) got a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Computer Science. Got outta there and ended up using the minor more than the major.
Worked at CableData for about 15 years as a computer nerd/programmer, got married, bought a house, got divorced, sold the house, got married, bought a house, got divorced, lost the house, "worked with the state" as a wildlands firefighter for a year or so, got married to a good friend in So Cal, moved there, got a new job as a computer nerd, got a different job as a computer nerd, got layed off, got a new job as a computer nerd contractor, got a new job as a computer nerd at a national financial newspaper, got divorced, started dating a nieghbor and learning Spanish (she's from Bolivia). I sure wish I had taken Spanish in High School instead of German. MUCH more useful down here in SoCal.
UPDATE: Now I know Spanish! The gal I met is now my wife of 5 years (as of 10/17/2014) ...Expand for more
and am we are now living in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia!!! Yay! Have three wonderful step-kids (all living in the USA at present) and am loving life!
There, you're all caught up.
I like to attend rodeos and bullriding, and head to Las Vegas as much as I can...probably every other month, on average, and have been going to the PBR and NFR finals there every November/December for the past 8 years or so. Just another excuse to go to Las Vegas and at the same time mingle with all the buckles and hats :)
The family is spread hither and yon these days...Dad's in Oregon on the coast (retired) with Erik and long-time girlfriend nearby. Betty and family as well as Ken and family are all still in the Bay Area. Lost Mom in January of 2014 very suddenly...still (and always will) miss her lots and find myself talking to her and asking advice quite a bit.
Funny to see how folks in my past have spread out around the world, and also how close some of them end up living to me at various times, without us knowing it. Shoot me an email if you ever find yourself around Santa Cruz, Bolivia *LOL*...maybe we can catch up.
Love and Luck,
Paul
