It's been a journey. Left Kimball for UofM on a full academic scholarship but left after my freshman year - too restless and so many places to see and things to do. 2 years of complete mayhem and living on the edge sent me in search of adventure. I joined the Army and headed for Fairbanks, Alaska where I spent 1 1/2 years training in all aspects of Arctic/mountain/glacier warfare and cold weather survival. What an incredible time that was. I left Alaska to spend my remaining time in the Army at Ft. Campbell, KY with the 101st Airborne Division. After being discharged in 1976, I moved to the Gulf Coast of Florida for 3 years before returning to MI to begin a long career in Mechanical Engineering. I worked for GM for 20 years and traveled Europe, Mexico, Central and South America and Canada as part of my job.
