Paul's Story

In my youth, I was a lost fool, to say the least. I quit school in Jan., 1965 and went into the Marine Corps. I served in Vietnam in 1968 and was Honorably Discharged, with the rank of Sgt.(E-5). The Marine Corps did help me a lot to mature. However, altough I was able to get myself into college after I was discharged, I could not readjust to society, after having been in the Nam. I wandered around for years, hitch-hiking around and living in national forest. I had some pretty wild times and enjoyed that way of life. e least. Now I live a pretty subdued lifestyle. I'm a serious minded person but I enjoy the peaceful company of good friends. I live in the mountains, renting a house here. I try to live as laid back as possible. Trying to stay sane in an insane world. I now try to follow my mothers words of wisdom. When I was about 12 years old she told me, "Son, don't try to carry the world on your shoulders. It will crush you!" Excellent advice from a woman who was born in 1892 and only went to the 7th grade.
