Paul's Story
Life
Currently married to Johanna Harbert (Smith). She is a registered nurse at a nearby hospital in Steubenville. We have two children (Benjamin 5 and Nicholas 1) and two dogs (Max and Patches).
I am a police officer for the Steubenville Police Department and have been for 17 years. I hold the rank of captain and am in command of the daylight patrol shift, which consists of myself, one sergeant, nine patrolman and one dispatcher.
My wife and I live in Steubenville although I would have preferred to live in a little more rural area.

Oct 1990 - Hired by Steubenville Police Department.
Apr 1991 - Graduated the Ohio Highway Patrol Academy.
Apr 1991 - Began as patrolman in Patrol Division.
Aug 1992 - Assigned to Narcotics Division and Federal
Drug Task Force.
Jan 1993 - Assigned to Street Detail to target drug
dealing, drive-by shootings, and
prostitution problems.
Nov 1993 - Re-assigned to uniformed Patrol Division.
May 1996 - Promoted to sergeant and assigned to the
Identification and Detective Divisions.
Nov 1997 - Assigned to newly-formed Internal Affairs
Division in response to Federal Consent
Decree imposed due to civil rights
violations over the past 30 years.
Jan 1998 - Promoted to captain.
Apr 1998 - Assigned to command Patrol Division shift.
Sep 2001 - Assigned to oversee Narcotics Division and
deparmental training.
Mar 2002 - Assigned as Operations Captain overseeing all
uniformed and investigative personnel.
May 2003 - Re-assigned to command afternoon patrol shift.
Apr 2004 - Assigned to command daylight patrol shift.
