10/1996 to 6/2003 - Promoted and reassigned to Washington, DC to manage Labor Department National Employment and Training Grant programs serving veterans, homeless and disabled veterans. This was truly an honor and a privilege for a small town boy... long hours and plenty of travel.

3/2012 - Retired from State and Federal Government service after almost thirty five years and living on a piece of the rock in central Virginia...
During this period of time, believe me I did have a life... My wife (Rebecca), since 1978, and I raised two great children, Jeremy (40) and Sarah (35). We've been blessed with five (5) grand children, the oldest is will be turning twenty, shortly. Jeremy has retired from the Marine Corp,in 2013,and Sarah is a High School teacher for the past twelve years in Fairfax, VA.., and has her master degree in education.
It would have been nice to have been able to attend the 40th anniversary, however, my son's retirement occurred during the same period of time. Hope to hear from many of you.
