Paul's Story
Hi Friends, came to the site looking for info on the reunion. Glad I did. Not sure I can make it though. Have been asked to update my "Story" and I will abut need to find a minute.
So you see my father and I last summer on a cruise. Scary. I'm sure that is me when I am 83.
MY STORY....Left LHS and went straight to Weber State no breaks and finished my course work early but delayed Graduation until the next Mar of '74 to delay my Army stint. With a low draft no., I joined ROTC my Soph year so I could finish school and go in as an officer. So I left good ole Utah and had a great Army career and retired after 20 years as a Major. Started out as a grunt officer in the Infantry - qualified as a Airborne Ranger then spent the rest of my time as a system engineer and Transportation. Lots of travel and challenging assignmen...Expand for more
ts. Spent 7 years in Germany on 2 different tours. Last assignment was with the Joint Staff with Colin Powell as the Chairman. Got to go will write more later. Anyone reading????
Interesting thing growing up in Utah. I never went Skiing and was not LDS. But did both after I left and went to Germany. Funny! I married while in College and we had daughter later in our marriage. Stacy is 26 now a graduate of BYU Journalism and runs a Website for teens. Check out "jsyk.com" I stayed in Virginia after I retired in '94 and have worked for several Govn't contractors. Also divorced around that time. So now after 2 careers, 3 Masters degrees and lots of other certifications in my fields, I am ready to relax a little more and am planning my escape from DC living. Think I just might come back to Utah play some golf and ski. -Paul
