Paul's Story
I retired from the music business after 55 years mostly due to the virus. The casino closed where I was working. So, we decided it was time for me to retire and we moved to Maui. All I do now is play a few gigs here and there, and I enjoy the beautiful surroundings. I finally played with the the Maui Orchestra, and had a blast. I am playing this January again with the orchestra doing a tribute to Alan Menken's music.
This was an awesome move as we are raising our grandson who is ten years old. We are 300' from the beach, and we spend a lot of time there. We survived the fire and our house is one of the very few that is still standing. Out of 2,700 structures, 2,400 were destroyed. It’s unfortunate to see this once in incredibly beautiful, quaint, historical, town reduced to ashes. It was originally built in the 1700s. Despite it all we are in very good spirits. The Doobie Brothers did a wonderful tribute to Lahaina featuring Mick Fleetwood. Fleetwood's restaurant was shown in the video a few times. It's a roof top restaurant. It's gone along with a bunch of memorabilia of Fleetwood Mac. Despite everything, we are moving forward and will be involved in the cleanup of this beautiful area. Happy Holidays to everyone! Stay safe and happy.
