Paul's Story

I loved Addison Trail. It was a relief to move from Iowa. Those farm kids can be brutal. Luckily I made friends with Tony Lavato who helped me out of quite a few jams. Also I was unafraid to enter the washrooms and locker room because guys knew they would bet busted up if they messed with me. Tony if you are out there please write sometime. After graduation I went to U of I in Champaign. The 70's was such a fantastic period. Who doesn't feel nostalgic when thinking about the music, art and friends they knew back then. My commercial art career began in a small ad agency in Champaign. I wanted to experience life in the big city so I took a multimedia job in Chicago. That was back in the days when artists got hard copy from a typesetting house, cut it up with exacto knives, sent it thru a waxer and pasted it on a layout sheet. nd one in Chicago. A vet, a lawyer and a classical pianist. My desire to be my own boss gave rise to an architectural sign company that I owned for 18 years, Still not done with working in 3D I took a job as lead craftsman for the Brookfield Zoo. Around 2008 decided to devote my time to landscape painting. I have taught art at middle schools and at Waubonsee. I. Have been to some great concerts downtown at the City Winery and at the Arcada. Saw Chris Isack, Dionne Warwick, Graham Nash, Todd Rundgren, and John Waite. Recently bought a violin and am taking lessons. (some people might put this in the minus column) I enjoy attending the local festivals in Geneva and Saint Charles. I am developing a dating site: deardestini dot c.....o......m My current paintings are at theartistsguild (dot u s ) /pjmiller.html Next exhibit is at Cantigny Park: Art in Bloom Wheaton, IL June 17 & 18, 2017 I teach photoshop and illustrator at Waubonsee.
