Paul's Story

Life Relocated to Las Vegas in 1981. Employed as a Project Manager specializing in Hotel / Casino construction. Married Kathy, whom I met in college (Marist College), have two kids - Kellilyn and Danny. Kathy and the kids visit the Jersey Shore every summer, usually from mid-July to mid-August, and stay with my Mom in Margate....because of work I usually only join them for their last week at the shore. We keep in touch mostly with Joe Karver (and his wife Ann), Dino & Sue DelPrete and Jack McCabe. Kathy is an employee, teacher, and student at UNLV. She is taking classes and working towards her PhD, she teaches Environmental Science, and she works as a Program Coordinator for the Harry Reid Center for Environmental Studies. She's involved in the Test Site, Yucca Mountain and various EPA projects. September 2003 Update: In March 2003, we all went back to Margate for my Mom's 80th Birthday. Over 85 people showed up for my Mom's Party, she was really touched. Kellilyn started high school at Bishop Gorman this Fall. She made the Freshman Volleyball team and is currently playing Softball for the rec-league team she's been with for 2-years. She plays 1st Base. She hopes to make Gorman's Softball Team in February. She's in the Honors program. She just turned 15 on 9/16. Danny is in 7th Grade and just turned 12. He continues to play soccer. He got burned-out on baseball so he has taken a hiatus from the sport. He still enjoys Boy Scouts - he will receive the Life Scout rank in November. He went to Summer Camp at Emerald Bay on Catalina Island this summer. As an Asst. Scoutmaster, I got to go along too. I think I had more fun than the kids. While Danny and I were at Emerald Bay, Kathy and Kelli went to Catalina as well - staying in Avalon. They had a blast. My cousin Chris joined them for a few days. Both Danny and Kellilyn received their SCUBA certification this summer. Kellilyn is the only one who has used it so far. She made (4) dives off of...Expand for more
Catalina. She enjoys it alot. Kathy snorkeled while Kelli was diving. August 2005 Update: The kids have had an awesome summer this year...Danny graduated 8th grade and will be going to Bishop Gorman in the Fall. He joined the People to People Student Ambassador Program and spent 19-days in the South Pacific (8-days in Fiji, 7-days in New Zealand and 4-days in Australia). He lived with a New Zealand family for 3-days and learned alot about their culture. After returning, I took Danny and 7 other Boy Scouts to Summer Camp at Shaver Lake, CA for a week. Danny should finish his Eagle Scout requirements this year. After Camp, Kathy and Danny went back to NJ to spend 3-weeks with my Mom at the beach. And a big surprise, Danny actually asked me if he could play baseball again; I was lucky to get him on a Majors Little League team after the season had started. It was good to see him play again - he is a natural at Baseball. Kellilyn finished her Sophomore Year at Gorman with a 4.0 cumulative GPA. She received her Varsity Letter in Softball last Spring; and plays Volleyball for both the high school and Club teams. She, too, got involved with the People to People program this summer- as a Sports Ambassador. She spent 11-days in Holland participating in the Youth Friendship Games - she loved every part of it; the sightseeing, shopping, making new friends, her coach and the games. She returned on August 1st and left that same night for NJ to spend 2-weeks with Kathy and Danny at my Mom's. As for me, I returned to my former employer JA Tiberti Construction; who had just been awarded the contract to build the new Bishop Gorman High School campus. The kids think its cool that I'm building their new school. I've been meeting with the Administration and coaches to verify requirements and to review the design. Hopefully, the school will be done for Kelli to graduate out of in 2007. 'Hello' to all our friends and former classmates who come across this.
