Paul's Story
I left miami in 1959. I joined the Marine Corp. Stayed in for 4 years. Was discharged at Camp Lejeune, NC. I was talked into staying by friends I had made in Kinston, NC. They said if I wouuld stay I would be assured of a job. I stayed 4 years.
In 1967 I returned to Miami, met a woman, got married,had a son, Joined the Carpenters Union, went to apprenticeship school for 4 years, became a journeyman carpenter.

ings were becoming rather undesirable around Miami. My wife asked me if I would be willing to move to a more rural area. We agreed on Tennesse and randomly chose Cookeville,TN. We sold the house and moved there around 1976. Two years latter we divorced. In 1980 I went to South Louisana to work in the oil field off shore as an inspector. In the mid 80s the oil companies shut down operations. Along with everyone else I was layed off. I went to college got an engineering degree. Around 1995 I semi retired to Tennesse.
