Paul's Story
Updated Jan. 2015 - After realizing that I wasn't meant to be an engineer, I got a degree in history at LSU (general studies) and went to LSU Law. There, I made one of my best friends, Terry Ryder, who turned out to be married to Joyce Herrell from our class. Terry and Joyce were living up in St. Francisville but have recently returned to Big BR.
After law school, I worked for the Louisiana Legislature for 7 years, then 3 years at the La. banking regulator. There, I met my future wife, Beverly, who was working for the Federal Reserve in DC. ia (NoVa)and went to work for the American Bankers Association as a regulatory counsel. After 20 years at ABA, I took a buyout offer in 2008) and went "of counsel" with a banking law firm here in DC: Barnett, Sivon & Natter. At the beginning of 2013, I retired from the practice of law, and my wife retired from the Federal Reserve at about the same time.
Bev and I have one daughter, who has now graduated from the Univ. of North Dakota (I have no idea why ND, except it was pretty far away from here). I am currently trying to get used to retirement with my wife and pursuing (dallying?) several hobbies, including Role Playing Games and HO model railroading.
