Paul's Story
Greetings from wild, wonderful, and beauftiful in summer (and cold in winter) Southwest Michigan.
The A.W.Beattie nuclear program ended up being the foundation for an amazing 45 year career in nuclear power. During the past 23 years I spent 17 of those years working at the infamous Indian Point Energy Center, 35 miles north of NYC, but living in the country. The best of both worlds. Nine years ago I was transferred to SW Michigan, with beaches rated by Conde Naste travel as being in the top 25 in the world. Who knew?
I recently retired for the second time. The first was from a nuclear utility, which lasted all of two months before I received a call for a temporary assignment from Westinghouse. That...Expand for more
temporary assignment has lasted for the past eight years. I am still working for Westinghouse on a part-time basis as a consultant; but recently picked up a part-time side gig with my professional society as their manager of accreditation. I guess it's never work if you enjoy what you are doing.
I have a daughter and son with two grandchildren living in Pittsburgh, and a step daughter and step son with a granddaughter living near West Point in New York. As an update since the last reunion, I was remarried about 2 years ago and have added another step daughter, step son, and another granddaughter to the family.
Life has been wonderful and I am looking forward to seeing everyone again at the reunion.
