Paul's Story
Joined the Navy after high school from 1964-68 serving my last 2 1/2 years aboard the aircraft carrier Constellation. Retired from MTA/RTD in September of 1999. Married Cindy Quil in September 1980.
Our son Brent, 29, graduated from Simi HS in 1999. He enlisted in the Navy in 2000. Attended the Naval Academy at Annapolis in June 2001 and graduated May 2005. He is in the Nuclear program and went Submarines. He served aboard USS Chicago homeported in Pearl Harbor. He currently has shore dury at Pearl Harbor.
Our daughter Crystelle, 25, graduated from Royal HS in 2003. She enlisted in the Navy in June of 2004. She was assigned to the Defense Lanuage School in Monterey, CA to study Mandarin Chinese. Her promising naval...Expand for more
career was cut short by medical problems. Now resuming college classes at Moorpark College. She worked for a while as a bartender. One more year of nursing school. The greatest academic turnaround we've ever seen.
We have lived in Simi Valley since 1987. Cindy and I enjoy the friendships of my Cleveland HS classmates. Cindy is quite a cook and we enjoy the hours in the kitchen. You can't believe my restraint. I should be over 400 pounds. Our dog Killer (real name Princess) is a joy in our lives. She's 6 and weighs in at 5 pounds. We told Crystelle, "You're in the Navy, don't get a dog!" Must have said it 18 times! Later, she became our dog.
We're still diehard Dodger fans. Still waiting for that World Series!!
