Paula's Story
Life
I have had incredible adventures since leaving high school. I have lived and worked in 30 of our great United States, and I plan to travel and visit the remaining 20 states over the next four or five years.
Traveling has become one of my greatest joys. I have also traveled extensively in China, Puerto Rico, Caribbean, and Mexico. At this time, I am planning a trip to Indonesia, Lebanon, and Russia before the year's end.
After high school, I ran off to Las Vegas to be a blackjack dealer--what a blast. I then worked as an educator and national retail manager for a large cosmetics company; this was where I got my traveling fix.
After I grew up in 1995-hahaha, I went to court reporting school.

ommunity colleges in the So. Cal. area. I use my court reporting skills to aid deaf students attending these schools. I go to classes with my deaf students; and using a funny machine called a stenograph, I write every word spoken in the class. I supply my students with a laptop that is connected to my stenograph machine; this laptop displays in realtime what is being said. (I can write in excess of 200 words per minute.) This affords the deaf students equal access to the teachings of a hearing class.
This work is the most wonderful thing I have ever done; in fact, I even hate to call it work because it is so much fun. I adore my students, and they are very intelligent. I am currently working with future doctors, microbiologists, physicists, and attorneys, and I am very proud of them.
