More about Paula:"My parents were both psychiatric social workers who met while working at Veteran's Administration at Court Street in Boston. My dad initiated the first foster~care program for disabled Veteran's and many times he would take me to meet these men of honor and I would listen to their stories and hardships.
My dad was a also a Lt. Colonel from a first generation of Irish immigrants. My grandfather's stone masonry is still seen today in the stone walls of Wellesley and Newton Hills. My father's sister was the first woman professor at Boston College. Both parents excelled in athletics. My mom was a ranked tennis player at Longwood and my dad played in the Cape Cod baseball league and played baseball and football at Boston College. There was no escaping athletics in our family! My mother's parents were both Doctors . My grandmother had a tremendous impact upon my life, she continues to influence me today. As a young child I spent time visiting Fernald School, while she attended to the medical needs of the residents. Kindness and compassion was learned by observing these wonderful role models in my life and their commitment to improving human conditions. I am so blessed to be born into this amazing family and incredibly proud of all my family and the contributions each one has made to society....they are so amazing and continue to inspire me! I have 3 wonderful boys, who are discovering that their career paths are leading them towards professions of working with disabilities. I am so proud of them!".
