Paula's Story

I hope my old friends remember me as someone who was honest, caring, a true friend, trustworthy, funny, smart and a good person. I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. Go for a walk, work in the yard, listen to music or read. Threw marshmellows at Mr. Alexander in World Affairs Class to protest the war. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have respect, honesty, and co-workers I can trust to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My hero is Barack Obama. He helps all of us remember what this country can be and how we just have to have hope and all work together. We can achieve anything we want if we all realize we are all on the same side. My inspiration comes from the 2 children and my family. They inspire me to be the best that I can be. They are my support and they encourage me. I am so proud of our children and the young adults they have become. I have lived the majority of my life in Spokane. When I got married, we moved to the Valley after 1 year and we have lived in the same house for 33 years now. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Art Hoover, because He was such a sweet guy. Gonzaga Basketball, Mariners, Seahawks. Dancing with the Stars. My beautiful golden retreiver named Maggie. Moose, I am obsessed with Moose! My biggest surprise has been that I ended up being a banker, just like my Mom. Though I am a Relationship Manager and Trust Officer. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my bathroom and add on a big porch. My dream home would be Craftsman Style with a bit wrap around porch. Patience. To be the best listener possible. To be spontaneous. To lead by example. To love my children unconditionally, not matter what they do. To always encourage them to be their own person. Laughter. Fun. Sharing. If I could see one teacher again it would be Mr. Naccarato. He was my favorite teacher. If I won $100...Expand for more
million, I'd give 50 million of it to charity, then spend the rest on my family, friends and my community. To have the ultimate in happiness, I would live on water, working with kids with my husband and family there also. My current age is 56. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be boring. I was so completely wrong. I work hard, but I also love what I do. I have been with Washington Trust Bank for 23 years. I am a AVP, Relationship Manager and Trust Officer. I have my CTFA designation and I love working with my clients and helping people. My very first crush was on Daniel Michael Kruger and I was in the third grade. I basically had a crush on him in some fashion all through high school. We were just friends however. My best friend would tell you I'm outgoing, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as shy. My style is business casual at work during the sumner and they casual suits other times. My at home and play style in jeans, sandals and Eddie Bauer t shirts. I believe in comfort first and don't worry about what is "in". I share my home with my husband and son and our dog Maggie, which I find very satisfying. The only thing I would do-over is to have been at my mom's side when she died. I was 8 months pregnant with our son and after spending hours at the hospital my sister and her husband told me I had to go home. My Mom passed away about 5 hours later. I will always regret that I wasn't there with her. My first job was at A & W, where I got paid 1.10 an hour to be a car hop. What I remember most about it is putting a tray full of root beer floats in mugs on a car windwo and it tipped over and spilled all over the inside. I could have crawled in a hole. Playing baseball in our back yard with all the neighbor kids, like the Jamison boys, Victor Frost, Mike Lehman, Mary Alice Fleckenstein and having water fights with buckets, balloons and hoses from yard to yard. Those were the fun times.
