Paula's Story
I have had quite a trip through this life. I graduated from Truckee Meadows Community College and the University of Nevada with a degree in General Studies and a minor in Addiction Treatment. For the past 30 years or so have been living in Reno, Nevada, married for 24 years to a wonderful man, Sam, and we have 5 grandchildren. I have two children, Jacquie and Keith, and Sam has one son, Sam (how original). Not enough space here to fill in all of the years. I have been singing throughout the years with the La Jolla Symphony chorus before moving here and now sing with the Reno Phil, and TMCC chorus. I keep my hands in the theater doing plays when time allows. I have been fortunate to do some traveling including a concert tour in Europe and Carnegie Hall. and singing with Barry Mainlow, Paul Anka and Toni Tennille and some incredible choral directors, Robert Shaw and Mitch Miller. I am a Nevada and Internationally Certified Problem Gambling Counselor, and Nevada Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor and worked for seven y...Expand for more
ears as a substance abuse and problem gambling counselor for the drug court. I retired July 1, 2023 from private practice and state certified evaluation center, Aloha Evaluations, but maintaining my licenses. Have been a member of the governor's board for the Nevada State Board of Examiners for Alcohol, Drug and Problem Gambling Counselors for seven years. Sam retired early from his career and then taught math and business at the community college for 15 years. We have had legal custody of our 18 year old grandson Sebastian since he was five and is a senior at Reno High School involved in JROTC and will be entering the Marine Corps after graduation. He keeps us busy and on our toes with school and his outside activities. We play golf as much as possible as the weather allows and have traveled across the country, northwest and Hawaii playing golf, stopping along the road when we see a golf sign. We enjoy our family and grandchildren. Life is good so I must have done something right along the way. I have been blessed.
