Paula's Story
Life
Despite being a Utah gal, I waited until age 39 to have my first child. What a good decision! Patrick and I love our little sons, born in May 2004 and September 2005. Parenthood is definitely the biggest change in my life in the past several years and such a precious gift. I still try to find time to sew clothes -- a hobby I've had since 8th grade -- and work out in the early morning hours before the family gets up.
College
I went to the University of Utah after graduating high school and opted for a mass communications degree. I decided I would work for a few years, then go to law school, which is just what I did. I...Expand for more

Workplace
In September 1987 I began working as a reporter at KODE-TV (ABC) in Joplin, Missouri. Within a couple of years I was anchoring the weekday evening news, hosting telethons, and doing public appearances. As I had planned, I quit the news business to go to law school. In 1996, I got my license, joined a big firm and began representing pharmaceutical companies in products liability lawsuits. I have changed jobs a couple of times, doing medical malpractice defense and complex commercial litigation mostly. I very much enjoy what I do.
