Paula's Story

Got mixed up with a Rebel and started drinking and skipping school. Led me to skip the 12th Grade (because of a really high ACT score and I had already accumulated all the credits I needed to finish High School) and go straight to AUM for a year before I joined the Air Nat'l Guard. Air Force Basic Training in San Antonio, TX for six weeks before getting orders to Tech School in Denver (Lowry AFB) for AF Intelligence School for Air Interpretation Specialist (reading film from planes flying reconnaissance over countries we were "doing business with" so to speak). Found my first husband there...Expand for more
. Graduated from Lowry and went home to wait for my "first husband" to move me to SC with him. He was in the "real" AF. We moved from Shaw AFB in 1978 (after living there for a year) to a very small base in Germany (Zweibrucken AB) where we lived for one year on the economy. It was like a roller coaster life until I left him and moved back to Pensacola to live with my grandmother and go back to school (PJC Pensacola Jr College). The story just gets rockier from there. WOW! The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Debbie Daugherty, because I didn't get to say good-bye..
