Paula's Story
I went to NCSU in 1974. I graduated as a practical nurse in 1975 from Montgomery Technical Institute. I wound up in Wilmington, NC and racked pool tables for about a year and became a pretty good pool player. I went to Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, NC at night for 7 years (1980-1987) and became a production draftsman for the next 3 years. I live in Wilmington, NC about 5 miles from Carolina Beach and 8 miles from Wrightsville Beach.
I lived with my boyfriend for 9 years and then we married in 1985 and had our only child in 1996. I left him in 2006 and we divorced in 2008.
I have one child, a daughter named Melody, who is 13 and is 6 inches taller than me. As I am only 4 foot 10 inches tall it doesn't take much for someone to be taller than me. She is fun and creative and also an artist. I am very proud of her. She has better grades than I ever did.
