Life
Hello class of '61,
After graduating from Texas Woman's University ('65),
I worked 3 years for the Dallas Parks and Recreation Department. For the next 3 years, I was a Recreation Center Director in Garland, Texas. I got married in 1971 to Ken Spinkle who was in the Air Force. We moved to New Hampshire for the next 5 years. Our first son was born in 1974. In 1976, Ken went to Korea for a year and my son and I moved home to Texas. In 1977, we moved to Austin, Texas and have been here ever since. We added a daughter in 1979 and another son in 1983. I divorced in 1991. I am currently employed both by the Austin Independent School district and the Austin Parks and Recreation Department. My oldest son has 3 daughters. My Daughter graduated from Southwest Texas State, and my youngest son is serving proud...Expand for more
ly in the United States Air Force. Would love to hear from any of you. October, 2006...Since I started this, I retired from the Austin School District in January, 2006. I accepted a full time job with the Austin Parks and Recreation Department as a Recreation Programs Specialist. I worked part time for the Parks Department for 13 years prior to becoming full time. I am finally back doing what I've always loved doing.. working with children in recreation activities. Remember when I was President of the Girls Recreation Association at Sunset? Well, I have continued playing my way through college and life. Mrs. Ford would have been proud of me. I hope to retire from the city in about 3 years..all my Temp years have counted toward retirement. I would love to hear from any of you from the Spotlight Band or the G.R.A.
