Peggotty's Story
Life
I recently retired after working for the Department of Army for 30 years. I am very active in my church, Bible Way Temple, as a Sunday School teacher after about 40 years. I am now loving my new life as a retiree and just returned from a very nice cruise from the southern Caribean states. I will be going to Africa in 2009, and inbetween that more travel to the Caribbean. I have two wonderful children, Ivory, III (34), and Radiah (33). I have also two loving grandchildren (Ivory's), Jordan(10), and Kayla(8). I remember the good old days at Cardozo from 1962-1966, I also attended Howard University from 1966-1970, but did not quite finish. ne who needs to prove to herself that she can get her bachelor's degree. I came from a very large family (10), with eight girls. I have lost all but three(3) of my sisters and realize that life is too short and we must make a difference in this world in a positive way, so help someone along the way. We all can volunteer at a nursing home, homeless shelter, teen hotline, hospital, or somewhere to make someone's life meaningful.
I always wanted to be a doctor when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a wonderul idea. As it turns out, they were right. I did not achieve this, but doctors are making wonderful strides at finding cures for deadly deseases. I still admire their work so very much.
