Peggy Carlquist:  

I attended the U of U for 1 year while working at Hinckley Dodge. I changed to Beneficial Life in the Actuarial Department, then I was hired by United Air Lines as a Stewardess based in Ypsilanti, Michigan and Denver, Colorado. After a year and a half as a stewardess, I received a mission call to the Danish Mission for the LDS Church. I served for two years and returned to Salt Lake City where I went to work for the LDS Indian Placement Program. I married Lynn Carlquist a few months after returning from Denmark and we lived in Draper, UT. We moved to Idaho in 1978. We have five children and 17 grandchildren. We farm about 1,000 acres of ground and raise, grain, dry edible beans, alfalfa and sugar beets. I don't think I could live in the crowded city anymore, I'm used to the wide open spaces. I married a Jordan High Beet Digger, and he married a Granite Farmer. We are now farmers and beet diggers for real.
