Gosh--it's been a lifetime since I thought of Randolph. I'm a medical microbiologist at a local hospital. This means I test, identify and report bacterial, parasitic and viral infections in humans. This can be both challenging and rewarding as Fort Drum is nearby and these folks are deployed worldwide. Needless to say, we see a lot of strange diseases. There is never any routine day at work. Every day is a learning experience. During "spare time" (WHAT'S THAT) I'm a docent (volunteer teacher) at the zoo. This photo of me with a Spectacled Owl was taken this past September during the zoo's annual presentation of the Fragile Wilderness. My home is on the Tug Hill Plateau about 20 miles southeast of Watertown. It's a beautiful area but winter can definitely be a challenge. We measure snow in feet instead of inches. I am a MOM and my son is a teacher. He recently married a daughter of one of my college room-mates. My son also recently received his Masters' Degree in Literacy. He is presently working on a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. My husband recently passed away from advanced stage ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). It was horrible and I miss my husband very much.
