Peggy's Story

I guess getting divorced and raising my kids on my own, especially my second marriage. I waited 10 years before remarrying and swore I would never divorce again. I guess we don't always get to choose what happens! I've raised 5 kids; pretty much on my own. I have been divorced for the second time 18 years and the first time 10 years. I guess I'm not great at relationships or just lousy at choosing a mate. All of my kids and grandkids live in Utah. We moved here after my last divorce about 15 years ago. I have 9 terrific grandkids, but that's because they have terrific parents. I have learned a lot from my kids. My oldest daughter has taught me that sometimes we just have to make the best out of a bad situation and courage and strength and to have faith and hope when there seems to be none and to rely on my Heavenly Father. My second daughter has taught me a great deal of patience and about forgiveness. My oldest son has taught me kindness and how to just "chill" out. My second son has taught me laughter and how not to take things too seriously and adventure. My last son and definitely not the least has taught me some very difficult lessons because of the choices he made as a teenager. I have learned love, unconditional love, courage, patie...Expand for more
nce, forgiveness, humility, trust in my Savior, never give up on myself or others. All of my children have been great teachers to their mother. I have worked for the State of Utah for 15 years now in the Attorney General's office in the child support division. Job security! Over the years I have done a lot of traveling when money and time have permitted. I love to read, listen to good music and love to visit with friends. It's fun to visit old friends and see what they are up to and how their lives turned out. UPDATE! June 2012 I have remarried after being divorced 20 years! WOW! What was I thinking? We married in Nov 2010 and, truthfully, I wouldn't do it again. It is very difficult to adjust to another person after being single so many years. We have definitely had our ups and downs, but neither one of us wants another bad marriage. So we work on it daily and keep our Heavenly Father in our lives. I now have 11 grandchildren of my own and he has 4. He comes from a large family of 11, so we are always on the go with all the weddings, graduations, etc. I am looking forward to this reunion and getting reacquainted with former friends and learn about how their lives have turned out. My husband is a "talker" so he will have a great time.
