Peggy's Story
I only went to OP for my senior year but had a grand time. My Dad was career military, retiring as commander of Tyndall Air Force Base Radar Squadron in 1966 and we moved to OP because the schools were accredited and my sister was set to attend Jax U. I roomed with Sandy Dukes and Mary Frisbee for the summer following graduation, and then we all scattered to the four winds and lost touch.
I have one son from my a failed first marriage but grabbed the brass ring on my second time around and have been married to Douglas for almost 27 years. I made a career in real estate and he became a general manager with AT&T. We retired in 1983, and moved from Atlanta, GA, to a beautiful bedroom community 20 miles east. I have two fabulous grandchildren by Doug's daughter. Josh is at Camp LeJeune in training before heading to Afghanistan and Courtney...Expand for more
will be entering graduate school this fall.
At 46, after we had retired, I started college and went straight through grad school (7 hears, ugh!) to pursue my avocation as a licensed professional counselor. I'm in private practice and absolutely love my work. Douglas started a second career as well. What can I say? -- we're doers. My gd Courtney is following in my footsteps and will also become a counselor.
We own a bungalow just off the town square in Covington's historic district and it's in a constant state of repair or remodeling. Oh well, we need something to do when we're not doing work! Did I mention we're doers?:)
I would like to reconnect with former classmates and also get to know classmates I didn't have the pleasure of knowing then. I'm very curious about what happened to everyone once the hammer came down on our hs fun.
