Peggy's Story
I always wanted to be an comedic actress when I grew up. Instead, I went to the school of hard knocks, and eventually got my degree in nursing. I will admit, I still do everything with a dramatic flair. I still love vintage clothing, jewelry and hats, and those who know me well are not surprised sometimes at some of my ensembles. Strangers, however, will do a second take, and I have overheard some of the remarks. I have been called an old hippie, and even a witch. Beauty of it is, while I had no confidence in myself in high school, and always felt like an outcast, I have matured into somebody comfortable in my own skin, and I really don't care what anybody else thinks. It's a freedom that all should enjoy!!!...Expand for more
!! I am currently a registered nurse at Life Links in Mattoon, and I get to dress however I wish, no uniforms here. The clients seem to love and accept my unique sense of style.
My hobbies are fishing, quilting, playing the dulcimer. I love antiques. I am happiest out in nature, and would prefer a quiet cabin in the woods to the home I now live in. Love to tent camp, too. Adult beverages with friends, and weenies burnt over an open fire are my favorite past-times.
I have lived in Toledo, Greenup, Neoga, Chicago, and am presently back in Toledo. I did a three week medical mission to Nigeria, Africa in 2000. Had the time of my life. I have three children, 18, 19, and 26, and one grandchild, Emilie, age 3.
