Peggy's Story

Life After graduation from Southwest, I went to work with Southern Bell. I got married shortly after graduation and in 1960, I gave birth to a baby girl. I continued working with Southern Bell until 1968, at which time I left to raise my daughter. I went back to work for them in 1977 and remained with them until 1991, at which time I retired as a Benefit Manager. In 1992, my husband of 35 years died. I had to step in and run his business, and in 1994, I was asked to come back to work for Southern Bell on a contract basis, so I worked three days a week at my husband's business and three days a week for Southern Bell. retired again, and have been retired ever since. I enjoy my life as a retiree....I sell clothing on eBay, which keeps me busy. My daughter lives in Detroit, where her husband works for Ford Motor Company. I have 3 wonderful grandkids...a 24 year old granddaughter who lives in Evansville, IN and also works for Ford Motor Company...a 17 year old grandson who lives up the street from me with his dad, and is the love of my life.....and a 10 year old granddaughter who lives with her mom and dad in Detroit. Actually, all three of them are the love of my life...I enjoy travelling, I love the beach, love garage sales and flea markets, and I'm sort of an unofficial host of a Widow/Widower chatroom on AOL and enjoy the friends I've made on there.
