Peggy's Story
Hi, Class of 69. Still have my Indian's sweatshirt - I consider it an antique!
Moved to Wilmington, NC to work alongside my 85 year old dad (Walter Pancoe), also a New Trier Grad, and learn the Real Estate Development Business.
For 30 years (am I old or what?) prior to that I lived, worked, married and had 2 girls in Los Angeles where I worked in the television business producing Network Specials for Barry Manilow, Donna Summer, Barbara Mandrell, Mikael Baryshnikov and others. I married Dennis Rosoff in 1980 and unfortunately, he passed away suddenly in 1991 leaving me with 2 young girls, then 3 and 1/2 and 7. Not one to take to my bed with a box of kleenex, I proceeded to raise them and see them through each of their excellent private school education thru my younger daughter's high school graduat...Expand for more
ion in 2006. Was on the moving van the day after. Over LA - lost it's magic. Too crowded, too foreign, too expensive....sold my house in LA for lots of $$$, bought a fabulous house AND a Prius for cash...NO MORTGAGE! Whoopee!!
My older daughter, Rebecca, graduated Eugene Lang in NYC and now has an excellent job with Clear Channel Radio in Manhattan. My younger daughter, Pamela, as of this writing, Oct. 2008, is a Junior at University of North Carolina, Wilmington majoring in computer science. Exceedingly proud of both girls.
Wilmington is fabulous. Everything is accessible and easy and people actually say "Have a nice day" and mean it. There is plenty of music, art, dance, etc. I am on a first name basis with the Mayor, The Chancellor of UNCW and the Director of the Cameron Art Museum...go figure!!!
