Life Born in Vero Beach on 18 November 1938, I was a twin - Peter Clements Whittier is my twin's name. My Dad operated Cox's Grocery near the railroad tracks. Our house was at 1825 19th Avenue. We were born at home because the hospital on Old Dixie was not appealing to my mother and she left the hospital and we were born in our living room with Nurse Garnet Radin assisting Dr. Clements. I have two older brothers, Vernon L. Whittier and Robert Paul Conner Whittier. V.L. graduated from VBHS in 1947, graduated from Florida State University with a BS in Personnel Management, went to work for the state, received a law degree from FSU and retired after working for the Department of Transportation. He is married to Terrie Jones, has three children and four grandchildren. Bob graduated from VBHS in 1953, graduated from Florida State University and University of Florida's medical school, received his ear, nose, throat specialty from University of South Florida and is still practicing in Tallahassee, FLorida.
