Pennie's Story

Since graduating, I married Jerry Lambe, had two beautiful children and aftr 7 seven years, got divorced. In 1969, I met my present husband and after a whirlwind romance, (met end of April 1969, got married June 6th 1969) we were married, whereupon I inherited two more children and an inordinate love for racing, any kind of racing, but were active in flat-track motorcycle racing the first part of our lives together. NHRA Drasg Racing comes in at a very high number two spot. Tom and I started our married life with 4 kids, my daughter and son and his daughter and son. We moved to Arizona in 1976, leaving his son and daughter with his X and my son with his father . My daughter had opted to come with us. We eventually settled in Cottonwood, Az., purchasing 2.5 acres on the Verde River. Over the following years, one by one, our kids joined us in Arizona. My brother and his 2nd wife had joined us soon after we had moved to Sedona. In November of 1981, while on a camping trip to a lake outside of Flagstaff, my brother and our mutual friend both died in a boating accident. In 1986, we added to our little family by adopting my niece, Wendy. Our family has grown what with the grandkids (18 and) all grown now) 9 Great Grandbabies, with another one expected to make herself known in October. We have always had an open door policy and have felt blessed to be able to open our doors to our grand children in time of need and now we feel blessed to have Wendy back with us (her kids ...Expand for more
on their own) and Debbie, my oldest with our first Great Grand-daughter, Mikaela who is 13 as well as her son. It's hard to put 59 years in a few words. My husband still works in his greenhouse (Pyramid Greenhouse, which he developed and manufactured). You can catch us on Facebook. My 2 girls have moved in to help Mom and Dad. Says it's their turn, we had ours. Debbie is my official caretaker but will be needing to get a full time job when Mikael enters High school next year. Over the years being bucked off horses and arthritis, I have had to have both hips replaced and the left one, a total reconstruction, just last year. This has left me with being a little less mobile. Also, I have started a blog site. If you want to learn more about the adventures or find out more about the Pyramid Greenhouses of Tom's, you can leave me a message and I will provide the sites. I haven't been too active with this yet but hope to start with stories of Tom's and my adventures, which there are many and chronicles our life together. I'm doing this for my kids and grand children to remember what real living was like before TV, game boxes, cell phones, computers, etc. And as a heritage to them. I keep busy crocheting afghans for all the new babies. My latest ones I have entitled "Nana's Forever Rainbow" Afghan. You can see them on Facebook as I get them done and post them. I've also just taken up the art of "Diamond Art". For more on the life and times of Tom and Pennie, message me.
