Penny's Story
Life
I moved from the Plant City area shortly after graduation. I moved with my family to Belleview, FL (Marion County) which is known as horse country. It is located in north/ central FL. I have lived here ever since.
Shortly after moving here I went to work for a small building company. I worked there for two years. Then I went to work for a local bank and was the Secretary, now know in the fancy words "Administrative Assistant", to the President and Vice President for about 6 years. During the summer and fall of 1983 I made weekend trips back to Plant City to help my friend Sharon DeShong plan her wedding. During one of those trips I met my husband, Clarence. We were married on June 1, 1984 and had our beautiful daughter Stephanie in April, 1986. She is the light of my life! I was a part-time stay at home mom for about 4 years. the bank when they needed me for short periods of time. In 1993 I went to work full time for the City of Belleview. I started in the Finance Dept. doing payroll and accounts payables. Since I began, we have grown and now I am the Payroll/Benefits Coordinator for the City. I really like what I am doing. I kind of put the cart before the horse though. During all those years of work and family I didn't continue my education. Now I have began to work toward my degree and find it very difficult after being out of school for so long. On the bright side though, I have a smart 17 year old daughter that can help me! (haha)
In my free time, my family and I enjoy camping. It is very relaxing and makes for some great "quality time" with my family and friends. Well that's been my life so far. I know it sounds a little boring but I wouldn't change one bit of it.
