Peter's Story

My life started over for the 3rd time it seems on Feb 14 1991. I married Heather Frobish and we had Meghan 9 months later. We were both in the military at the time and she was a food inspector and I was a food supply sergeant. I got a full time Field Artillery Unit Administrator job in Newcastle Wyoming where I worked for several years. Those of you who know me will understand that when my supervisor, who worked in Gillette Wyoming, suggested I was not doing my job up to standard and decided to impose restrictions on me, I responded, "You rrr Mole". I was soon brushed out of the military after 10 years of service in the ARNG. My wife received a calling form God in 1996 and WOW did my life change. Within a few months Heather moved to Dallas Texas to go to SMU, Perkins School of Theology. I followed her a couple of months later with our 2 daughters, Meghan and Hanna, who was barely over a year old. We drove a 1 ton truck and what a trip that was. I got work at Tom Thumb Food Stores as a Food Service Manager and things worked ok for a while. Perkins is an expensive school so we got loans out the ying yang. My daughter from a previous marriage, Misty, hit 13 years old and her Mother could not handle her and asked if I could take her. It really seemed like an answer to our prayers. Wow, that really added a lot to our situation. Misty seemed to be a full time effort but well worth it. The five of us lived in dallas for 12 years. Heather got her Masters in Divinity. The Discipline of the United Methodist Church changed in 1996 to disallow ordination to new graduates without going through a probational period. That really slowed down the process for Heathe...Expand for more
r's ordination by eons it seems. There are also many who still think women should not even be ordained at all. Man are they misguided. Religion is something best believed and not discussed. After serving in the Dallas Texas area, Heather finally qualified to be transferred to God's country. We now live in Bloomer Wisconsin where Heather Pastors 2 churches, Bloomer and New Auburn. What a blessing to be here. I have a river, Douglas Creek I think, that is across the street from where we live. I caught a 27 1/2 inch Northern Pike there 3 months ago. I used to get in trouble for fishing trips interfering with family life so I was provided with way to fish and be done in 10 minutes and have bigger fish than ever before. Man do northerns fight. It is amazing. Most people here like to fish for Muskies in the lakes and also pan fish. Northerns are more like trash fish to most people. My wife really is the best preacher I have ever heard and I post her sermons on a web page that I update. It is very low tech but I can share her sermons with my friends and families. You must search UMC Bloomer Wisconsin to find it and my email address is there also if anybody would like to communicate with me. I tried to make it to my 40th Class Reunion but missed it by one week. I saw Bill McCreery while I was at home. I also stayed the night with Elmer Chavez. Henry Castro is looking well and his children are beautiful as are Elmer's. I was home because my sister was in the ICU in Scottsbluff Hospital. She was near death. She recovered and I am so glad I went home when I did. God does work in mysterious ways. You are Her Example. Time to get back to work. Keep in touch.
