Pete's Story
Life
After River Dell, I got my Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from MIT, and have been working in computers ever since. I retired from 30 years at IBM when they moved their operations from Boca Raton, FL, to Raleigh, NC. I spent a few years working in NC one week a month (travelled by Amtrak - trains have been a love of mine my whole life). Now I am 9 years into my second career, managing a computer operation for a friend of mine who owns a company that manages 401(k) plans.
Having started a family later than most, our kids are now 16, 18, and 20 (boy-girl-boy). The older two are attending Florida State University.
Much of my leisure time is spent serving in our church. I teach adult Bible classes, and have been an elder there for abo...Expand for more
ut 25 years. I am currently attending Seminary going after my master's degree.
In the early 80's I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Although my mobility is limited, it has not really affected much else. 5 years ago I got a service dog (that's TJ in my picture). Since then, we got another one and have really gotten to love dogs.
Lately, I have added cooking and photography to my hobbies. I have become a regular viewer of Food Network, and enjoy digital photography.
I have also developed a liking for MMPORG's (that's massively mutiplyer roll-playing games, for those of you who may not know), and spend some time playing them online. I guess that goes along with my love for computers.
