Peter's Story
This was a picture at the awards ceremony for the northwest Street Stock tour I and a few racer friends started after Portland Speedway closed. I raced for 3 years at Portland Speedway. 1999 to 2001.
We ran The NWSST for 5 years, 2002 to 2006.
Had lots of fun racing my '77 Camaro I built myself.
Won lots of C mains at Portland Speedway, lol, and once led 27 of 30 laps at Portland Speedway in the A Main,, only to blow the 6th rest...Expand for more
art with 3 laps to go... and ended up 3rd.
Finished 11th in the season points that year with car counts around 40.
The NW Street Stock Tour we formed raced at Madras Speedway (dirt), South Sound Speedway (asphalt), Roseburg Fairgrounds (asphalt), Hermiston Raceway (asphalt) Tri Cities and even Yakima.
Spent a lot of money. I had no sponsors
Still was great fun.
Then my daughter went to college..........Much better investment.
