Peter's Story

I received a couple of notes asking me to at least fill out the damn questionnaire. Sorry, I just couldn't fill out that lame thing. I am reminded by Hannibal Lecter chastising the agent in training Clarice Starling: "Do you think you can dissect me with that blunt tool". Basically I am not convinced anybody gives a crap what movies I watch, what hobbies I may have or if I ride a fricken bike. However, as you noticed, I am still the humorous, sarcastic, self centered jerk I used to be. I was going to change but it works for me. I grew up in Marina and went to Vista, Los Arboles, Fitch and Seaside high like most of us Marina/Army brats. Fortunately I did not have to move as much as others did. Hey! Did anybody else have Wally Britton for a teacher in Fitch (electronics/drafting)? What a piece of work he was. I would imagine he is in a ward somewhere now counting holes in the acoustic tile ceiling or bouncing around in the fast food industry. After High school I went into Law enforcement for almost twenty years and unfortunately injury retired out. I was a Lieutenant for about the last twelve and during that time I went to graduate school at the FBI academy and was taught the much misunderstood art of behavioral profiling and neural linguistics/detection of deception use during questioning. And no it is nothing like you see in the movies or on TV but it is what I still perform as a consultant for federal and city govt. agencies, insurance companies and law firms. Additionally, after a year of crying over a lost law enforcement career I not only became an investigative consultant but I also learned to inve...Expand for more
stigate all manner of transport fires such as cars, aircraft, shipping, rail farm equipment you name it. I am very fortunate as I have been able to travel all over the US, Europe, Asia and the Middle East to perform these investigations as well as teach courses in vehicle fires, profiling and interviewing techniques. One of the classes is a yearly one week course through San Jose state. One of my favorite things to do is to dispel junk science (and there is a lot out there). That is why I used the photo I did here to show that burning cars only explode on TV and the movies. Unless of course you are gorked out on alcohol or some other chemical and elect to drive your car into a concrete pillar at 90 MPH. Now I'll bet some of you thought I was real brave to stand next to that burning car. Nope I have test burned so many cars and aircraft I lost count and they are all predictable. The best thing since high school overall is I married Judy. Even though she way outclasses me, she has kindly allowed my presence nearby for over 23 years and continues to put up with my antics. For that I am the most grateful. She will tell you she enjoys the freak show for entertainment purposes. Nope, we have no kids just the latest of many great dogs named Quintus. Don't worry about our lack of children, it has allowed me to posses excellent toys and enjoy many and continued foreign travels. As big Formula One fans those trips are essential. Other than this folks my life has likely been just like yours: Lots of happiness with a little bit of sadness and worries to occasionally remind you it can't be good every single day.
