Peter's Story

I now live in Columbus, Ohio and have been for over 40 years. I am retired and have just recently received my masters degree in Pastoral Studies with an emphasis in parish administration. I am a Permanent Deacon in the Catholic Church and have been for 29 years. I am married and have 4 grown children and two grandchildren. I retired from being an insurance broker. ides in Ohio and New York State and Iowa. Five years ago, I was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma a cancer that invaded my jaw. It has been an interesting journey and has taken me to being involved with other cancer patients and with hospital staff in finding better ways of dealing with this terrible disease. Life certainly can have its twists and turns. It is how we cope with the detours that make us who we are.
