Peter's Story
In a nutshell...
After I graduated HS I joined the Army and by 1985 I had completed Airborne School and the Special Forces Qualification Course and was off to my first assignment with 10th Special Forces Group (SFG) in Ft Devens MA. I re-upped after my first enlistment and was sent to Flint Kaserne in Bad Toelz Germany where I spent the next several years in 1/10th SFG and then went back to Ft Devens and then to Ft Carson CO when Ft Devens closed as a result of base closures during the 90s.

fterward in Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. In 2007 I decided to join the National Guard and was assigned to 19th SFG and then in 2009 I moved along to Special Operation Detachment Pacific where I was deployed to Special Operations Command South (SOCSOUTH) and stayed there for 2 years. Here I met my wife Kathia and after the unit demobilized I got another job as a contractor where I work right now, still at SOCSOUTH.
I am writing this "story" from my hotel room in Dhaka Bangladesh on a deployment to train senior military officers in the Bangladeshi Army, Air Force and Navy, but this is just my AT (Annual Training) and I'll be back home in South Florida in a week or so.
