Peter's Story

Life At UW, I started doing gymnastics, and I completd a BS in engineering. Afterwards, I married, and began working in the computer software industry. We bought a house, and after I completed my committment to the Army National Guard, we moved to Saarbrücken, Germany where I worked a little more than a year. We returned to WA in 2002, and I began working at Microsoft. In 2005 we had a son, and the next year we moved to Redmond. tion-order to help fight fires in Leavenworth, WA. The best training we ever received was one "Annual Training" (2 weeks in the summer) at the Yakima Firing Center where our company's platoons were attached to the visiting California National Guard's Armor units like they would be in real combat. We participated in dry-fire missions and I even had to call Medi-Vac for one of my drivers when he broke his jaw during a training run. The Army promoted me to Captain in an attempt to keep me from leaving. I am proud to have served, but am glad to be done with it.
