Ok folks, as we get into Dec. and the wind blows and the cold northern winds whistle down the chimney, I think I'll just curl up in front of the fireplace and try to tell it like it was , in and outta old Thornhill High...Stay tuned....Sounds like Howard Cosell, right?? Anyway, 40 something years ago my life really began on a school bus headed for Thornhill High. It stopped every morning (no matter what the weather) at Hwy 7 & Vaughn Blvd & I cannot remember a SNOW DAY! Stokes was our driver. I guess he was a good ol' farmer from Woodbridge, but I'm not really certain. All I know is he smoked, and he didn't give...Expand for more
a damn if we did..The last couple of rows were designated for our "Special" group, and I guess we were special! We were all in the firkin' COMMERCIAL DEPT!!! and I still have to look at the keys to type! Remember back then when we were 16-19 yrs. old how hard it was for our Mom's to get us up in the morning. I was the same, but my favorite song was "Deep Purple" and there was a special someone on that bus that I couldn't wait to see. His name was John Kersey.....just kidding. Betwix my diatribe FYI, '64 to '95 I was with Bell Canada & in the middle '78 to '83 I was with the Toronto Maple Leafs. To be Cont'd....
