Peter's Story
It is nice to have social media to contact old friends from another era. I now live in Greenville, South Carolina. My wife is Shirley and have 3 sons and two of whom are married and from them we have 4 grand kids. Peter is married with Shirley K Walls. After leaving Mimico High School in 1968, I attended Queen's University studying Geological Engineering. I then joined CUSO and went to Malaysia where I mapped geology of an area in the interior of a state on Borneo. I was having fun so I stayed on doing contract work for the government there. pecialized for better job opportunities. After this the job market was still bad in Canada, I spent 2 years teaching technician level students at a technical college in Zimbabwe. That was exciting for many reasons. After getting back and doing contract work in Canada, it was apparent no one was hiring experienced persons in the mid 80s so a friend said to come south. That is what I did and started working in Atlanta in 1986 and moved up to Greenville, South Carolina in 1990 and have been here ever since.
I have worked in the environmental field since then on a multitude of projects mostly in the SE US, but I have done projects in Alberta and Nova Scotia. I am still working and enjoy my work.
