Peter's Story

Update 2014-12-10: Since I retired from the Workers' Compensation Board of Alberta in August this year, I've now taken up residence in Penticton, British Columbia, a wonderful small city in the south Okanagan region of the province. Sylvia and I found a small house that has been well looked after with a suite downstairs that Sean and Lincoln can make their "home away from home" when they come to visit. The summers are long and hot, the winters short and mild. And it's now only a 3 1/2 hour drive to see the boys in Vancouver. Sylvia and I decided to put a ring on each others fingers this summer and finally did the vows on Saturday, November 15 this year with a few friends and family with us to celebrate. After 37 years of moving around (at least every 5 to 6 years as an airforce brat and then every year as a banker), I've finally put down roots (since 1984)! And after being given up for dead by some of my Chatham classmates (likely because of an obit for another Peter Wynn here in Edmonton in '85), Iva T. found me alive and well. And, I've managed to keep a job for over 25 years; 4 careers within the same company no less. I wish I could say the ...Expand for more
same about my ability to keep marriages together! Don't ask, OK. So, despite my desire to get to Military College in 1970 and graduate into a jet jockey to avoid being a "9 to 5'er", that's exactly where I ended up... sort of... 7:30 to 4 is about the same. OK, so I was a Business Analyst; which really should be described as a translator between those who need a computer program designed to so something specific, and those who have to build the sucker to do that specific thing. Don't laugh... it paid pretty well. As with most military families I've caught up with over the years, my family is spread all over - me in Penticton BC, dad deceased in 2015 somewhere in the Toronto area, Mom also gone in 2015 in Moose Jaw (SK), brothers located in Ft. Lauderdale (US), Edinburgh (SCO) and Victoria (BC), sis in Belmont (ON), and my ex's spread from the Pacific coast to the Atlantic. Now, with my retirement on Aug. 29th, 2014, Sylvia & I headed to Penticton, BC for the duration. It'll be great to be closer to Sean who is now in Vancouver. So, now that you've found me, I hope you'll let me know what you've been up to. Please, start typing me a note. Pete

Lincoln... our grandson-dawg. He's a Roman Cane Corso, but Italian Mastiff is what a lot of people know as the name of his breed.
