Phaith's Story
I have great memories of High School, even with all it's ups and downs ;) The outside lunches in the courtyards were a lot of fun! Some of my fondest memories are of all the sports events, long practice sessions after school, and the Student Trainer sports and events on the road. I loved all the Foot-Ball games the most! As long as no one got hurt ;)I became friends with a lot of people, while keeping a close eye on anyone for injuries as a Student Sports Medicine Trainer. Thanks "Doc" for that incredible experience!
A few of my best friends in those years were Julie, Melodie T., Lori. B., Charlotte M., Candice, Robert, Constance, Young S., Andrew, Carey, Richie C., Richard S., wow...now that I am thinking about it, there were so many great people, that I got to know there, that I can't even name them all! I miss everyone! Sadly, I missed graduating with my Class for not doing the last English Essay. Lori B. was a trooper and finished hers that night- me... not so good .. hehe. I had to attend Summer School. It really STUNK not walking with my class. Anyway, I got it done in '88 at least. Then, I was accepted into Louisburg College, Yeah!
I've missed keeping in touch with a lot of people in NC. I really wanted to get to the 20yr. H.S. reunion in '08, but for reasons out of my control, I didn't make it. Hoping to make it to the 25th! I will elaborate more on H.S. in the future.
After H.S. I went on to Louisburg College. I roomed with Enloe H.S. Alumni Mary Kelly the first year. Wow, that was a blast! Great memories there with her, and the new friends we came to know. I remember all the great hall parties with Amy T., Wendy, Michelle, Paige, to name a few. All the late nights, snow fights, swimming and hanging out at the Laurel Mill, dancing at the Dew Drop Inn (sp?), and being a Basketball Cheerleader for two years! I will never forget the family we all became. Then,AGAIN; not graduat...Expand for more
ing with my class ;( Thanks, counselor: I went to pick up my cap and gown, only to find out that I was ONE credit short. Had I known this ahead of time, again.. thanks counselor for telling me, all was well, and on track the whole time...anyway, the Dean said "only if we had known sooner. . You could've picked up the extra credit somehow!" Well, then I attended North Carolina State Univ., for a class that summer, to graduate with my class year of '90. I achieved an Associate Degree of Science. Yeah!
Then, I met the love of my life that fall. David J.;) I worked as a Fitness Trainer, and Aerobics Instructor, and did Sales at a local gym. Then, I decided I needed to move on, and get my four yr. college degree. I moved back to Richmond, Va., where I'm originally from, and attended The Virginia Commonwealth University. I made a couple of good friends, Lisa F. and Amy. However, it was a really big school, and I lived off campus, so it didn't feel as personal as the others. I regained childhood friendships, (Patty C.N. and Michelle W. and OF COURSE-MY "SIS" Rebecca S.), that I had almost lost, when I moved to Raleigh, in '85. Then, the love of my life couldn't stay away. Long distance relationships are hard, and he moved to Richmond. We made some great friends together with the room-mate he found, Troy M. (We are all still great friends to this day.) David and I got married in '94!
Back to College: I graduated from VCU with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree. FINALLY, getting the chance to walk in Graduation with my Class of '95! WOO-HOO!
I have worked full-time pretty much ever since; being a Project Manager, Sales Engineer, Fitness Trainer/Consultant, Aerobics/Dance Instructor, Retail Sales and Manager, Service Coordinator etc.
I now have two wonderful sons that are 11 and 6 years old (as of 2009). Being a parent is the hardest, yet most full-filling, job I have ever had!
Peace out!
