Phil's Story
Life
Life biography huh? Well - after school, I joined the Navy and spent the next 4 years travelling all over the world. I got out - worked as a bouncer/DJ for Black Angus in San Bernardino and Montclair (great job!!), then I got hired at what I thought was my dream job - Police Officer for the City of Redlands. I was there for about 6 years, then transferred to the City of Monrovia and was there for about another 6 or 7. I retired from the police force, went back to school, got my degree in Computer Information Systems and started a small computer consulting firm while I worked at DeVry Institute of Technology as the Director for Southern California Laptop Technology Programs. I sold my business (good business move at the time) and joined the International Consortiuim of Technology Professionals (ictp) as a consultant. After the president of that company bankrupted the place, I started another consulting company ITEK Solutions Inc. with a good friend of mine and we've been doing business ever since. School
God....high school...best days of my life and I didn't even know it. The girls, the friends, the parties, the sex....gotta love it. Remember when our parents told us "charish these days"....did we? Not nearly as much as we do now. I don't know about you, but my days and night are filled with work and commuting. Oh to be a senior again!! :)
Workplace
I'm currently the CEO of ITEK Solutions which means aside from handling the technical end of things, I'm chiefly responsible for business development and cash flow. Talk about pressure!! But - at lease I'm my own boss. It's challenging, and fast moving, so the time flies and I'm surrounded by people who are smart and driven to succeed. It's a great environment. The down side is that I spend any where between 80 - 90 hours a week there and have little time for a life outside of work. I'm working on acheieving that balance, but balance has eluded me thus far. In any case, I hope you're all as satisfied professionally as I am. Hope to hear from those in the old gang. Talk to you soon!!
