Phil's Story
Hello, Folks,
Please let me tell you, something happened to my memory while in the Army. Consequently, I have a rough time associating faces with names from high school back. It used to bother me, but not now. Just be patient and it will come to me.
As some of you know, I was big into Rodeo while in high school. I stayed with rodeo for several years before, during, and after I spent some time in the U.S.Army.
Rodeo just wasn't the same when I returned from overseas. Too many cowboys, not enough bulls, and most of my old buddies were not there.
I went to see my good friend John David, and he had a motorcycle in his garage. After he insisted, I take a ride, I was hooked.
By the Fall of '68, I had a Harley. I still own Harleys, making my living, working on, and building. Hec...Expand for more
k, I even owned a Harley shop in Pasadena for a little over 15 years.
I belonged to a Motorcycle Club for over 10 years. I have ridden from coast to coast, and boarder to boarder a bunch of times.
In the early '70s, I rode up to Montana, and in 3 days had a job on a cattle ranch. I worked my way to running the ranch, while the owner was snow skying or hunting in Africa.
I have also owned 13 acres in Colorado, where I lived in a 125 year old adobe house ( wood for heat and cooking.) There, I worked on a Longhorn cattle ranch.
These days, I am retired and live in East Texas, where I care-take my wonderful Mom, who is 87 years "young" but needs me to help her get where she wants to go.
I am still fit and feel great, which is a bit surprising, giving all that I have done. LOL
